2 Weeks

I’m putting in my 2 weeks for Springfield.
in 2 weeks I’ll be back at Baylor.

I’ll be missing my traveling companion like crazy
and have more of James than I can handle.

Kidding.  Actually, I’m thrilled that James will reside just 5 blocks from my apartment.
Goal for the year: learn how to cook.
One week at a time.  One family dinner at a time.
[my secret motivation is to be able to scout out James's friends.  The gossip train to Springfield needs a direct line.  I AM the line for the year; I must investigate thoroughly].

2 weeks from now is exciting,
but  2 weeks from now my missing-ometer is going to skyrocket.

I must soak up:
-4907 S. Bothwell
-marathon conversations with Granddaddy
-laughs with Grandmother
-teasing mom
-building projects with Dad
-coolness (it’s scorching here; Waco is fire)

To live life in seasons is exhilarting.
but full of goodbyes.

AND reunions.

2 weeks.

  1. Again, you write so well. Even everyday stories become captivating…Dear 6 AM. As for Goodbyes…The precious thing about family is that they are always there to reach out to, and to come back to. Enjoy your last year at Baylor (it will be your last right?) It goes by quickly and life changes drastically after you leave, in someways good and in someways not so good. You’ll have a lot of goodbyes to wave at the end of the year and unlike family, some of those once loved familiarities will become lost to time and distance. Enjoy the moment and make each day as enthralling as your writing.
